The COVID-19 pandemic created uncertainty and distress for our community last year and it looks like our community will continue to struggle as the pandemic continues well into 2021. Now more than ever, Distress Centre needs to be available 24/7 to support those in crisis. Abiding by AHS restrictions Distress Centre adapts accordingly so that we have a combination of volunteers and staff providing support in our Contact Centre as well as remotely. Our professional counsellors continue to provide counselling sessions by phone and online.

There are many ways you can give to Distress Centre. You can become a volunteer, donate money, donate your bottles and cans through SkipTheDepot, or you can donate Aeroplan miles. In 2016 the social return on investment for Distress Centre was $7.42 for every $1 donated.

When you donate your Aeroplan Miles to Distress Centre, you are helping us in many ways:
- Purchasing recognition items for the volunteers who give their time to answer the 24 hour crisis lines;
- Purchasing items for third party fundraisers and silent auctions, with all proceeds going to support the 24 hour crisis lines or ConnecTeen program

How can I donate my car to support Distress Centre?
Donate A Car Canada accepts vehicle donations for the Distress Centre.
To donate a car, truck, RV, boat, motorcycle or other vehicle to the Distress Centre simply fill out the DONATE NOW tab at www.donatecar.ca.

When you donate your car it will either be recycled or sold at auction depending on its condition, age and location. A representative will contact you after you submit your vehicle to confirm the appropriate processing method.
